CCG

The Combinatorics and Coding Group (CCG) is a research group in the Department of Information and Communications Engineering (DEIC) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

Group CCG has been uninterruptedly working since 1987 in several projects and research activities on Information Theory, Communications, Coding Theory, Source Coding, Teledetection, Cryptography, Electronic Voting, e-Auctions, Mobile Agents, etc.

In order to describe and clarify the previous main lines of research, we itemize the most important projects where CCG has participated, heading some tasks or subtasks (chronologically):

  • Study and construction of Propelinear codes (CICYT'88).
  • Study and implementation of algorithms for error correction
    (CICYT'91).

  • Application of error-correcting codes to cryptography (CICYT'94).
  • Implementation of a Java prototype to carry out e-voting (CICYT'97).
  • Coding and compression, recognition of patterns, transmission and cooperation in Internet, HIPER (CICYT-1'00).
  • Development of two applications of secure e-Commerce, voting and auctions (CICYT-2'00).
  • Wavelet transforms to image compressing for geographic information systems (TIC2003-08604-C04-01).
  • Development of Secure Killer Applications over a Lightweight Mobile Agents Platform (TIC2003-02041).
  • iTrust: Working Group on Trust Management in Dynamic Open Systems (IST-2001-34910, UE).
  • Fingerprinting. Use of Z4-linear Hadamard codes (PNL2006-13).
  • Characterization and construction, from structural criteria, of optimal combinatoric codes (MTM2006-03250).

CCG collaborates with other national and international research groups and is open to new collaborations with other researchers.

CCG is also interested in the supervision of Master and PhD Thesis under the official Graduate Programme on Computer Science, and in the tuition of undergraduate degree projects for UAB students. To retrieve more information, please visit our section Join Us or contact us at:
